LAV AMBULANCE
The LAV (Light Ambulance Vehicle) Stretcher Ambulance provides a number of advantages of our heavier Mercedes 318 Ambulance including:
-
the LAV’s lighter weight allows for use on softer ground eg ovals, golf courses,
-
the LAV’s smaller size allows its use in more confined spaces including bush work, and is easier moving through pedestrian crowds,
-
the LAV provides a far smoother ride than any Mercedes 3xx Series and is therefore significantly more comfortable for patient transport,
all without compromising patient care or sacrificing emergency medical equipment.

Unlike many other Event Providers, EFAAFS is able to utilise the LAV in addition to our Mercedes 318 Ambulance only because EFAAFS do not rely on the Ambulance to also double as the primary First-Aid Station. EFAAFS always provides the Mobile Medical Centre as it complies with WorkSafe’s ‘Code Of Practice’ for First-Aid Room/Facilities. An Ambulance, be it a LAV or the larger Mercedes 3xx Series, does not comply with WorkSafe’s ‘Code of Practice for a First-Aid Room/Facility'.
Our LAV ambulance is used to:

respond to patients who are too unwell or injured, and it is not advisable for the patient to attempt to get to First-Aid Station themselves, or
-
move patients between First-Aid Stations when required.
